New Memon Masjid Karachi
This is a very old Mosque, built before the Partition of India. It is one of the landmark mosques of Karachi. A grand mosque where Hazrat Allama Qari Raza ul Mustafa Azami is Kateeb. Dawat-e-Islami used to hold its congregation on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladun Nabi (sallaho alehe wasallam). This mosque is beautifully lightened on the holy occasions of Eid-e-Miladun Nabi Sallallaho Alehe Wasallam, Shab-e-Qadr, Shab-e-Mairaj etc. Not too many people know that this masjid is made on the Top of the Old Graveyard. The Graves are still intact under the mosque. The whole mosque floor is on thousands of pillars. If you are walking on the floor you actually are on the roof of the graveyard. There used to be an entrance to this graveyard and we used to wander under this mosque in the old days. Photography of any sort is prohibited inside the mosque.
